Power of the Past

By Philip_H
Part of the Forum, Pompeii.

When Pompeii was first founded, the Forum was a small market in the centre of the town. It was situated at the junction of two important routes that linked Pompeii to Naples, Nola, and Stabiae. The great expansion of Pompeii in the second century BC left the Forum on the outskirts, but it continued to play a fundamental role in the political, religious, and economic life of the city.

Thanks for all the C&Cs on 'Arrival'.

Best wishes,

Your compositions make visual sense of cluttered, complex locations. This is a quiet little gem.

Superb comp and an equally superb capture. A happy reminder of our visit there some years ago, an experience I still recall with awe and pleasure.
