Perfect title and my fave colour orange. I like the paper-like blossoms of poppies.
Great closup detail.

A good detailed macro, a nice coloured flower and nice positioning. Only thing I can suggest is a crop up and in from the right to remove that little bit of green in the corner, and perhaps a little more contrast to boost the colour.

A great attempt x x

This could be a super image - the colours and composition are good, although I agree the suggested crop would add impact. My main criticism is that it slightly falls between two stools - it either needs to be super sharp (I'm not sure where the focus is) or more blurred to create a more abstract image. Not sure about how your camera works but a tripod will always help and, if you want super sharpness and are taking the image outdoors, make sure there is no breeze. It's amazing how even the smallest air movement will cause blur and the focus to shift. To be really picky, the pale green stems are a bit distracting. But a good effort nevertheless - well done.

This is a lovely poppy Louise. the detail comes out very well. I like the placement of the flower but I agree with lianna about the green in the corner. The top bit does not bother me too much but the little bit in the bottom right draws the eye a little.

I was wondering too about the background. It is quite a vibrant green and whilst the poppy is a strong colour I am not sure whether there is too much of a fight going on for our attention. I have uploaded a mod for you where I have desaturated the background using the sponge tool, just to dampen down the colour and make the poppy stand out even more.

Best wishes

People suggested you crop the picture and take out the top right green. I did a mod for you just like that but I think you lose a lot of the flower by doing that. They also suggested a darker background. I did a mod with the cropped version.

I personally prefer a fuller image. I gave you a MOD - My version is extending the flower, giving full roundness to the top area. I did a couple of those as well. In my opinion, your original version with the soft yellow paper quality of the
flower is really nice. Enhancing and saturating the image changs the mood.
