Pro Ageing Cream

By LynneJoyce
I did a modification on one of Hobbit Dave's images the other day and liked the effect so I decided to do some faux ageing of images of my own.

It has proved to be an interesting and engaging challenge. First I had to find suitable images and in the search through the thousand that I have, I found that I don't have any images of cutesy cottages like Dave's. That says a lot. Then, having selected the images I had to rid them of inappropriate, modern stuff like TV ariels, wires, cars, signs, modern lights and the like. I then processed them using a number of filters, textures, adjustments to saturation etc. Here you have the results.

The title is a sideswipe at one of my pet gripes - the social and media pressure for us to try and look younger that we are. I reject that pressure and wear my wrinkles and saggy bits with pride. Old age is a privilege denied to many and we should be proud of it rather than try to hide it.

As ever the exif applies only to the first image. Thank you for viewing and I hope that you like at least some of these images.

Love the feel of the past and stories untold or forgotten, Lynne.
There's just something about your lead image though. I could stand and stare for ages.

Isn't it good to try something new after being inspired by another photographer?
And yes, wrinkles, saggy bits and gravity rule the day...

Fabulous as ever Lynne and so good to look at.
I知 putting up with the aches and pains and would never spend on so called beauty aids - much prefer a sherry or a glass of wine. Wink Smile

A great job done here, Lynne, the processing really gives them a 'vintage' look 👍 Recognise a few of these: Hebden Bridge, Warkworth Castle, Durham Castle, Durham Cathedral, Skipton Castle...I give in on the rest! 😀
Not just wrinkles and saggy bits here, but aching bits as well! 😬
