The sense of scale definitely helps Dimitis but it's the feeling of awe when you are actually inside the site that is the BIG thing about the Acropolis. It is some years since I was last in the site but I still remember the size and feeling of grandeur that is still there in the ruins. I hope to get there again in October when we are on a cruise around the Greek islands, Italy and Spain

i would however attempt to apply some vertical straightening to this shot

I tried it, Leo (I have not the advantage of versions, so it's not possible to look at it now). There is a very little difference, however, as there are two constructional - optical features, "reduction" and "intensity", it is generally difficult to find theoretically accurate vertical lines in these buildings. "Reduction or decrease" is the convergence of the straight lines (generates in the mathematical sense) of a column to a visual point of view, so that the upper diameter is less than the lower diameter. "Intensity" is the curvature towards the outside of the "generate" of the pillar, so that after the effect of the atmospheric phenomena, the side appears straight in the eye. Also the sides of the platforms are not straight, but curved to the outside, so straight lines are lying in the eye.
For these reasons we can find the vertical direction only on the axis of vertical elements.
