Pulpit Rumblings

By sut68
On the only trip I made to Portland Bill, I went specifically to shoot Pulpit Rock at sunset. There was an extremely stiff breeze which made the slightly longer exposures I was after a little difficult, a good number were ruined by slight buffeting.

With water, my preference is to choose an exposure that captures the movement of the water and being as turbulent as it was a few test exposure revealed that 1/2 second was my preferred exposure time. Now it was just a case of waiting until the waves crashing came together.

A superb image. A great choice of shutter speed creating some lovely movement in the water.

Cheers Phil. I tried a few, but this was my favourite for the right amount of motion [for me] Smile

Thats a brilliant image - waves caught unleashing their power rather than being softened out. Perfect exposure!
