If you know what these are called it would be an act of kindness to mention it as I love flowers but can only remember songs and music. TG

Thank you Jenn. Now with the name I look it up and find they are usually yellow. I like the Royal Purple version, so just good luck this time. TG

You may well be correct Carol. Looking up images using your ' Campanula ' { thanks ], I find thousands of different variations. There are a few that hang down similar to foxglove however most of them are purple like my photo.

Jenn suggested Merrybells and that is similar in shape but those are mostly yellow. If I ever see the park gardener and get a certain ident I will list that here in these comments. TG

Carol and Jenn,
University of British Columbia, botanical gardens forums moderator, Daniel Mosquin kindly took the time to look at the purple blooms photo and offer an ident. offered as.....
[Quote]: Campanula, can't find specific species or cultivar at the moment. [Quote]

So Carol, you are correct and I learned so much here. Mainly that there are so many variations. Even ' the pro ' can not say exactly which cultivar this one is at the moment. Main thing is, it looks so damn good. TG

Jenn @ Carol were both correct... Creeping Bellflower is in the Campanula group and the exact match is found here.
