Pyramidal Orchid...

By Greyheron
Taken at the weekend in Belhus Country Park in the good company of Sylvia . I had the pleasure of using her Canon EF 300mm f2.8 L IS ll on the GF1...thank you Grin Camera mounted on a beanbag and fired using a remote release. Gold reflector set to the right of the blooms for some fill light. Pretty much straight out of the camera shooting through the foreground grass to give the mush. Did some cloning top right to remove a distracting blob of brown grass I'd missed during the pre shot prep...!!!

The end result is very nice Mike, that little GF1 must have looked very insignificant on the end of that 300 f2.8

You could fit about four GF1's in the bucket sized lens hood at least Terry Wink Great fun playing with the set-up though Smile

Glorious result, Mike and what a steep learning curve it was to watch the physical preparation needed (i.e. clever and careful "gardening") to enable the capture of such a perfect image. Thank you for a wonderful day and insight into how to achieve such magic. My results produced nothing like this, but will keep persevering Wink

Thanks Steve - last year there was only one in this spot, was really surprised to see two!!! Sylvia and I enjoyed photographing them. There were quite a few around the park generally this year so hopefully you can make it next long as the British GP doesn't interfere Wink
