Pyrrhosoma nymphula

By jamescoates
My second attempt and photographing a damselfly, quite lucky as he was flying around our pond. Able to get quite close thanks to the extension tubes but the dof ended up being quite narrow. Quite pleased that I managed to get most of his head in focus.
Hope the id is correct, enjoy!

First Class composition...!

A fraction brighter would've suited my monitor.

Perhaps the "dodge" tool in photoshot or similar used along the body would've done the trick for me.

Cracking shot though.

Fantastic capture and having been recently playing with ext. tubes, I take my hat off to you for the brilliant focus.

Pyrrhosoma nymphula to be precise. Or to you and me a large red damselfly. So you've proved your equally as good with invertebrate macro as you are with flowers but marginally better with the names Smile Smile
Great shot yet again.

Nice work. Like the large eyes. the angle: comp. and details. Like the name: it shows great attention to detail.
