Queens Anna and Kath

By alansnap
I had a great day last Friday at Eton Dorney. GB won two bronzes and a gold in four finals. Pick of the day was this race. Anna Watkins and Kath Grainger taking gold in the women's double scull. The Aussies tried to spoil the party but failed.

It was an excellent day from start to finish. I'd like to say a big thank you to the Games Makers, the army of volunteers who kept it going along with the bus drivers. Seeing Queen Kath finally crowned was a special moment for my daughter and me, and also Alan Campbell's bronze.

Well done.

Fantastic! Thank you for the uploading. I've read more than 30 pages yesterday checking for a pic but there were no uploads. You have kept the flame alive Wink

Great Shot Alan.

The feeling you describe is really strong and the picture will always remind you of that moment.

Thanks for the comments. There was a hint of hubris in the Australian boat. Kim Crow tried to beat Kath and then wanted the single sculls too. She spoiled her chances in both and only managed bronze in the single.

As I Brit all I can say is "Oh dear never mind."Grin
