This chap seems lost in thought, his eyes staring out into the distance and pondering I don't know what.
The B and W version seems to be more in character with the subject matter, but I do like the colour too.
A hard choice really, so 1/2 vote per versionSmile.

Love both shots Brian but the Mono always edges in front for me.
I love the expression and detail but would prefer not to see the riffle nozzle above his head dress.
Get's my vote though Brian. Smile

Great portrait, both work well, but I am more inclined to the mono, the details and textures appear even better.

Wonderful portrait and character study. He really does look lost in his own thoughts. Mono version definitely has the most impact for me - (just to upset the apple cart, have you tried a sepia tone?) GrinGrinGrinGrin

A cracking candid portrait, Brian, suits both colour and mono. I think the colour just wins it for me Wink

A cracker Brian especially with that wonderful smoke drifting up to the darkest part of the picture where it is most noticeable. Congratulations on your HC.

I really rate this, but would be tempted to lose the gun barrel from the top of his head.
