Quoting Joline

By mrswoolybill
To quote Joline, on the taking of a candid, 'The Devil made me do it...' These were two of the two million GCSE Geography students who chose the same day as us to visit Dovedale. We were stuck in the middle of the group, trying to overtake. But 16-year-olds have a wonderful capacity for spreading out and filling the available space.
These two ahead of us were verbally shredding the spotty-faced youths in the party. We learnt quite a bit about them in the course of 5 minutes.
The Pimpled Ones were walking behind us, discussing the precise definition of the word 'slag'. It was all very entertaining.
I couldn't help myself. I made a quick check that the camera was set to a reasonably fast shutter time, and grabbed this while still walking. I can resist anything except temptation...
Thanks to everyone who clicked and commented yesterday. This is an early upload today because we're plucking up courage to start Christmas shopping. Mind you, the camera's coming too.
Thanks for looking.

Interesting picture Moira and history attached to it (although somewhat sad, if I may say so).

Hope you have a good shopping trip. Can't wait to see the candid's Smile.

I love it Moira - just so typical of the snatched conversations you hear on the train or in the shopping centre. The story certainly makes the picture - and the picture is an interesting window on teenage fashion too Smile

.....don't they just! My boy seems unable to sit in a chair without his ridiculously long legs tripping everyone up as they enter the room! Another great candid Moira and loved the write up too. Made me smile!

They must be studying for a career in a steel foundry Moira.Slag is the residue left over after smelting. So thats the Geography lesson, looking for old mineral deposits.Thats me being cynical again.I am sure they have a list of their ''friends''who will qualify for the title.A good take here while still ''on the hoof''

lovely clarity to this Moira, having had a son and three step daughters, I'm no stranger to teenage life. I do miss it now they've grown and gone, but would I want it back? Hmmmmm,

Christmas shopping - it's not that time of year again is it.
The two conversations sound so entertaining. They'll probably all be round the back of the bike sheds later on. Heck, how old am I !!
Super capture Moira, as always an excellent well timed candid.

Oh!, you don't want none of that christmas shopping, it only causes trouble.
You will end up quarrelling, that's not good for epz.
One good thing will come out of all this, good thing you took this shot and not Bill.

Back home again, safe, sound and knackered, and in great need of TEA. A very successful day and we did not end up quarrelling. Got both Mums sorted, plus a few others.
Thanks to everyone who's been this way. I just have a few more days of Peak District uploads, then I reckon it will be time for Something Completely Different.

How can two of you go shopping and not end up quarrelling. If anyone else knows the answer please get in toch. any way it's too early to go Chrismas shopping. see we would have been at it before we left the house.
The storyline make your image into masterpiece.

Oh Moira I'll try hard to resist "Christmas shopping" comments... oh but it's so difficult...

I think this is a great candid image showing young people doing their thing - the commentary helps wonderfully too - I had a laugh with you! We can always be educated by listeneing to others can't we?
