Raft Race

By mac
This is one of the competitors in the Annual Raft Race held at North Berwick. The conditions are that the rafts must be homemade and cannot be a dingy or part of a manmade boat. They are usually oil drums tied with rope and other floatable materials. It is a shotgun start from the beach and they must paddle across the bay and touch the harbour wall then return to the beach. 50% usually fall apart before completing the course which of provides much amusement to the large crowd watching. Good clean fun on a summerís day!
This raft was plastic drain pipes sealed at each end!
