Ragged Sea's

By marktc
Today's visit to Swanage paid off a treat. Got there nice and early after a 90 minute drive just in time to set up and catch a few images before the sun rose. After a early morning on the beach it was cuppa time followed by a trip to Swanage Pier and Swanage Old Pier, followed by a fab breakfast.

Following breakfast it was a trip to Peveril Point, which was quite dramatic in the strong gusting winds.

Here is the result of a 223 second exposure, the areas of white in the sea give testament to the movement of the waves, which at times almost reached the feet!

Thanks for looking and to all those that clicked or commented on yesterdays upload.

A wonderful effect from the log exposure, Mark, almost more like a misty mountain top than seascape. Lovely tones and composition.

I love this Mark. Very dreamy with nice deep tones in the rocks and you've captured the movement in the water perfectly.....I might be tempted to crop out the nearest rock though but that's me just being a bit OCD! Wink

I imagine it's difficult keeping your nerve with those waves approaching during such a long exposure Mark, but worth it for the beautiful tones in the water.

The rough with the smooth!
Don't think you need the sky - the sea and rocks are a feast for the eyes without
anything else.
Sounds like you had a great day away from work!
Wishing you all the best for you and your family for 2013.
