Rain Imminent

By hwatt
Findhorn Bay, Moray, Scotland.

At low tide Findhorn is a pretty expansive beach and it is a fair old walk down to the sea. The river Findhorn flows out at this particular point and it is notorious for the speed at which the water moves. Near the edges of the river the sand becomes extremely soft and your feet and knees get sucked down into the sand in a pretty alarming manner. I noticed some interesting light in the sky but by the time I got down there I had just time to take this apocalyptic looking shot of a thunderous sky. Soon after I was engulfed by a fearsome deluge and had to squelch back to the car.

Pentax 67II, 55-100 zoom, 0.45ND Hard Grad, 3 stop ND Filter, f/22 at 10 Seconds, Fuji Velvia 50.
