Rainy Saturday

By ArtofOrdinary
Rainy Saturday afternoon in Lerwick, Shetland. Shot this from the hip as I am trying to learn and practice candid photography. With this one, I snapped it while waiting for my daughter who was beside me getting some money out of the wall, so it was a quick, unplanned shot. Gave it some HDR.

I didn't do three images initially as the people were moving, so I did a lighter and a darker copy of the original and used them for my three HDR images.

Your pseudo-HDR has worked well and is a useful technique when people are involved in the shot.
You can also shoot using bracketed exposure on high shooting rate which will give you 3 rapid fire exposures. My 7D lets me choose the exposure (-1, 0, +1) at 8 frames per second which is usually fast enough if the folks are moving slowly.

Nice shot
