Rays of Mist

By TheSweetcornKid
Another Misty shot from me, this shot was taken just as I arrived at the lake. Usually the first thing is to set up the rod and get fishing, but on this particular morning the camera was the first thing unloaded from the car.

I particularly like the rays of light in the mist.......

This was taken at MBK Lake at Rake near Petersfield.

Another nice one Stuart. I liked your 'Reeds' shot yesterday & this one is another good composition. You're brave putting shots on here when you have no editing facilities, but it's the way to go if you want to learn [in the raw, as it were]
(I'm trying to do as little as possible in PS before I submit.)
Composition is your real strength at the moment.
There's some good folk on here who'll help you immensely.

Well done.

Hi again Stu.
As Jack has said, your "Reeds" shot yesterday was good and this one's every bit as good.
As for not having any editing software, I decided to ulpoad a mod. which was erm, modified just using Picasa3 .
All the tools I used are in there and it doesn't cost a penny!
Here's what I did.
Firstly I straightened it (you'll always get moaned at on here if you offer up something with a sloping horizon), then I increased the depth in the shadows, just a little as the RHS's quite dark.
I increased the colour temperature to warm it a little and icreased the saturation, again by just a little.
The whole thing took about five minutes.
Sadly, the mod's. not very large. It looks better at the size of the original.
All the changes are really quite small and you'll probably want to experiment with the options but I hope you get the idea.

Hope this helps.

Looking forward to your Welsh shots.

Well, what a difference that made!! I liked the original shot, don't get me wrong, but compared to the edited version it looks a little "wishywashy" in appearance. Cheers Bren.......your a star!!! Smile
