Reality breaks through

By dudler
I usually take pictures end-to end in the front room: towards the window for high key natural light, with muslin over the window (to soften the light, and prevent damage to the Number 51 buses as they pass...), or from the window bay towards a black backdrop in front of the radiator on the far wall (obviously, popular with models in winter...)

Occasionally, I shoot sideways, usually while chatting to the model between ideas. This is one such shot, from November 2012 (I had to look out the digital files to establish the model's name and the date).

So the background's cluttered, and Anna's got a halo from the wall mirror over the fireplace. But the light falling on her eyes is perfect...

Chancing my arm and not tagging this as adult, as she's fully covered.Apologies if this offends anyone, especially the Moderators.

As you say John, the light in her eyes is perfect and I rather like the hallow behind her head too, as it draws attention to her marvellous expression.
Am I offended? narrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrWink

Oh that deep shadow that highlights her cheekbone, there's so much more to photography than pressing a button (like what I do !)

It's an excellent study of framing and lighting, not by chance. Very beautiful!

I thought she was wearing a hat until I looked closer Grin

It doesn't look as grainy as some other ISO 3200 film shots. Nevertheless, very nice and it just shows how good window light can be.

As it happens I was on the 51 bus this afternoon Smile
