Believe it or believe it not, this is one of the most difficult near-flight shots i have taken in recent years - i am discounting the years gone by when i knew even less than i know now Smile

Awaiting better weather / conditions to go back and do this critter again - although have to confess that, given the environment, i am planning to 'cheat' on the return and use radio controlled off camera flash.

...brilliant...I've been trying to "catch" one of these for years..both at Chester zoo and at Lotherton.
....well done indeed.

thanks for comments above - Barrie, nowt of interest showing regularly in garden yet although we have seen glimpes of LRP, Nuthatch, and Tree Creeper as well as all the norms GSW etc. will shout you when more consistent.

Mike, i did have a slight advantage here - i was inside the aviary. the probalme was that it was only c. 8-10 feet across so the bird simply hopped from one side to the other - most difficult when the brief is to get him in flight.

Adrian - thankyou for your confidence!
