Red is for....

By Cristian
Taken last weekend, this is the same group of poppies from which the single poppy picture, that I posted previously, was taken.

Had to take this shot as it was quite overcast and the red still really stood out.

On reflection, I wish I had taken this a little differently and allowed the background canal to be slightly visible. But hey, I'll remember that for next time!

Think the red border is 'draining' colour from the main image in the case, but I like the poppies.

Nice work.Good angle and the dof works for me.. as does the border. One small point..the blurred bud in foreground is slightly distracting.Click

Thanks for all your comments and clicks. Yep in hindsight, maybe I should have thought about the border a little more!

Still, you don't know unless you try......

Lovely Poppies . Try using a one pixel red border . Red is so dominant a colour you don't need much of it , 'cept for the Poppies that is a wonderful shade of red . x You have a wonderful portfolio . I shall have to put you into my favourites Smile

Poppies are lovely! Personally, I'd prefer a less dominating border too. I really like the saturated colours and the diagonal composition ... thank you for sharing!

I agree! Great saturation! It really works well! The border does not steal the shot away either...Nice one mate.

Like this a lot. I think the border works well and sets this shot apart from many others.
