Red karen child of Northern Thailand

By sawsengee
Red karen child of 5 years old starting to wear the brass rings which over the years will be added to elongate the length of the neck for beauty and identity. V1 and V2 show my earlier uploads of older Karen women with the brass neck rings.
For more info on the culture and ethno existence of the red karen tribes, here are useful link:

THANK YOU everyone for the UAs, votes and pleasant comments.......very much appreciated. ee GrinGrinGrin

Absolutely gorgeous, ee.
And if she had her left eye closed and a jammy dodger over her right eye, she wouldn't look unlike the little girl in my upload today, probably around the same age too.Smile

Always looks very uncomfortable for them to wear, especially for 24 hours a day. A wonderful set of portraits 😃👍

Extraordinary set... Extraordinary people.
How very interesting to see... Isabel GrinGrinGrin
A stunning trio.
A beautiful child and interesting what different cultures consider as being beautiful. At one time in Japan it was binding feet. I wonder if any of it is worth the discomfort.
Gorgeous! I've heard that nowadays the custom is continued mainly for tourism, but the image is truly exquisite.
