This is a remarkable photo in many ways.

Birds in flight are never easy subjects as anyone who has tried to photograph them will testify. Red Kites are particularly 'trying' as they fly swiftly and make rapid changes of direction.

Photographing in snow is also very difficult as gauging correct exposure is a test of any camera and photographer.

Put these elements together and you have a potential recipe for disaster so to produce a result like this which is not only technical excellent but aesthetically extremely pleasing is testament to the skill of the photographer
