A very well worked metaphor I always found that my identity was under threat, after all when ever we are asked about our work, we say 'I am a...' we define ourselves by our jobs. But you can take control of your job and your situation, and you will come out on the other side.
Best of luck and keep busy, especially if the result is work like this!

Paul - if this is a personal experience, as one who has been in this position five times, please believe in your own abilities and strengths... you WILL come through it.

PM me if it will help...

Your best for quite a while Paul, but then again this is the sort of stuff that I like. I'd maybe tone down the colour saturation of the box and mini-you's just to get it to sit into the background a little better. Excellent idea and realisation of the idea though.

And chin up eh Wink

has to be the colour with the blue yellow combo working so well, strong image; such conceptual images are easy to over process and over explain, or worse fall into cliche; not only have you avoided any such pitfalls (as I would anticipate) you've created an image which is creative commercial and un-compromised, not an easy feat.

very striking image. As one who has suffered redundancy, especially at my time in life and in a country rife with "ageism" even before the rescession kicked in, I know how you feel.

Anyone else had experience of ageism when trying to get a job? .... I've given up on recruitment consultants who seem to be the worst offenders.
