Redundant II

By paulcr
The other day I listened to one of our glorious politicians state that he knew the Irish people were angry at the government at the moment. He then went on to say that this anger was irrational!
How far removed from reality do our elected individuals have to become before we finally say enough is enough? When will we finally realise that they are no better than the dirt on our shoes and need to be removed and thrown from their ivory towers? When will it finally dawn on us that all they really want is for us to disappear into the background, crawl into a dark place and leave them to enjoy their perks and social privilages? A privilage the WE gave them.
Well ivory towers can be toppled!

Like your creativity with this one Paul - could almost be a scene from the Matrix or similar.

Maybe anger is the last real consolation left? Powerful image, and remarkably restrained.

Thanks Moira. The problem with anger is that it can be amplified by unbelievable statements from those who should know better!

Great image, Paul, a real feeling of despair in it.
And a heartfelt message too in your commentary...

I'm almost afraid of what might happen should I happen to answer the door when some of these shysters come canvassing - I do have a baseball bat conveniently placed as I feel beating the message into their thick skulls might be the only way they'll ever get it.

A good reminder Paul that it's not just in the UK..
..and how many Irish politicians will ever stand down for anything? Wink the unfortunate thing here as well is that even if occasionally one is forced out for something serious, they just go into the cooler for a few months, then they come back smiling and get voted in again...

better stop now before I really get going Wink

great pic, very evocative, hits a nerve

I think we all have got the politicians figured out now..the sad truth is nothing will change..we continue to have a go at other counties for not upholding democracy and freedom of choice..yet our system is just as supressivee as any of those countries..
We are not allowed to vote..we have a minority government[if all votes count]and redundacy is talked about in serious terms but worthless actions and false claims......sorry bloody excellent photograph..been there but I was lucky..

Oh yeh didn't Ireland say no to some they asked it to be done again to get the right result...joke or what.

Hi Richard. Thanks for taking the time. As for the treaty, yep. We're obviously ignorant and uninformed. The govt know better of course so we have to do it all over again. Well we should have got it right the first time, silly us. Rumblings that it could be another NO vote. Wouldn't that be a kick in the balls for them..
