Remember me

By mlseawell
Remember me as your world burns
Remember me
I provided you shelter against the sun from above
I provided you air, I provided you love
But you turned on my as your cities grew
Just a tree you see, one you hardly knew
Nature averted her gaze, ashamed to watch
As you ground me to dust, without much thought
Now you reap what you you sow, but that wasn't me
Instead you reap ashes instead of trees
I loved you unconditionally
Remember me, remember me.

Nice Mark. A bit Ansel Adamsish actually. He did a series of photos of lone Aspen trees and this has a similar feel to it.
Delightful

My best friend lives in the hills in British Columbia... This is heartbreakingly beautiful, as is the poem. My friend will understand both the image and the poem...
