Heartbreaking. I discovered a fence covered with little red shoes at a daycare centre. I think I will update it.
It made me cry when I looked at it.

I seen that fence today too. The children at that daycare probably painted all those little shoes. So sad. So unimaginable.

A very powerful expression of these very tragic times from this location and the world over Sandy , the stories must be told so these things do not re occur again

This is a huge aspect of what photography is all about, i.e. telling a story and conveying a common interest. Great shot and story.

Yes, I read the story, but this brings it home, makes it personal. Superb photojournalism, and intensely moving. I'm glad you kept your distance, allowed them privacy, rather than zooming in close. As madeinbrooklyn says, this is what only stills photography can capture.
Thanks for this.

Very, very sad, yet beautiful in its own way.
A video or cine of this could so easily be cheesy; the stills really hit home, the black & white reinforces the mood.

Yet again, more Roman Catholic horrors revealed. I feel so sorry for "good" Catholics... will their Church ever recover.

How much better a place the world would be without religions - apart from abuses such as these, supposedly carried out in the Lord's name, most wars are caused by religious disputes...

That little girl saying goodbye to her teddy made my eyes leak.

It's almost beyond my belief what one human can do to another. They must be totally devoid of empathy, and that in itself is a terrible indictment of how we have evolved. So very very sad.

Such powerful and moving images and well taken Sandy. I hope the voices of those that have suffered are heard in remembering those children.

An even tI knew nothing of - but once again religious organisations are to blame!!!!
Where is the compassion that religious folk are supposed to have?
