Remember to Pay The Ferryman. (Pokhara Nepal).

By UrbaneMagick
Ok, it's not the River Styx, but he's still earnt his corn.

Iv'e uploaded a set of photos , of the views from the Pagoda( Himalayas) & of the temple itself.

The Main peak seen in the variants is Fishtail mountain, so called as unusually, it has a twin peak.
Fishtail Mountain is deemed Holy in Nepal, and as such, no licence has ever been granted to climb it, and to this day, it remains unsummitted!

This Nepalese gentleman rowed me from one side of Lake Phewa in Pokhara to the other .
The side I wanted held the World Peace Pagoda, a stunning recently built temple, with a magnificent back drop of the Himalayas.

Sadly, although only built (at huge cost) in 2006, it is already in danger of collapse and sits precariously on a scree & mud slope.
In August of last year, it was instrumental in a landslide, that killed six people dwelling below.

lovely series & reportage .....V1,V2 & V3 are superb, capturing what Pokhara is reputed to have. I missed Pokhara because of the cold & stomach cram I will have to be another chapter in my return to Nepal. Smile

We stayed in Pokhara on our trip top Nepal as well. A lovely reminder. Fishtail is easier to spell and pronounce than Machhapuchchhre or Machhapuchhre (माछापुच्छ्रेWink Grin

Thankyou Ching. It's one of the few places, where everywhere you look is a photo opportunity. Also, it's huge, vast even, so need to go back several times yet Smile
