"Remnants of a Mining Past"

By dales
Taken this morning a "short series" of an old quartz ore crushing battery for gold mining which would have had massive noisy equipment built on top of these remnant footings , This is located in our nearby bushland down the road from us.Gold was discovered in Bendigo in 1951 which sparked a major gold rush in what was once just a sheep run pastoral location , mining carried on from alluvial to major works digging undergroung and removing the gold laden quartz for crushing and separating until 1954. This made Bendigo region one of the largest producer of gold in the world and even had it's own stock exchange at one timeSmile We have still some minor presence of gold mining in the region which often restart as the price of gold risesSmile

Thanks for the views , votes and comments on my previous upload "Fallen'3" all are very appreciated😎😎

Sad to see things like this, when you try to imagine what it would have been like in its heyday. But makes a great photographic subject, Ian, and a fine set presented here 😃👍
