The photo is strong though. Think I prefer it without the heavy white frame though. But the motion, the reflections on the wet road, the moment of photographing him are very good. The square also works here. It has a very beautiful, yet gritty docu quality. The oof pole in the fg even adds to that feel. It's like a scene from Midnight Cowboy. Very well photographed.

There's a big difference between an image depicting an event in terms of photojournalism/reportage and using an image to promote a belief or doctrine. the photographer must remain neutral, or at least objective. Let the viewer decide.

Either way, there are image-related issues here.

The image suffers from camera movement. I guess the guy was not moving from the spot so if there wasn't anything nearby to steady you and your camera there was time to find something, there must be numerous poles at your disposal.
That shutter speed and focal lenghth are just asking for camera shake to spoil the image. A little noise isn't an issue in a newsworthy image so ISO 6400 could have been used resulting in a much 'safer' speed of 1/160.

The image is nderexposed and the main subject merges into the background and what he's holding in his left hand is invisible.
So more exposure, about a stop I'd say, and waiting for him to be outlines agaist a lighter wvehicle would be worhtwhile so he's more clearly visible.
