These are not rescue dogs in the conventional sense but the dogs who have rescued me and others from the slough of despond and from going insane during the Covid crisis.
Ansel, the one at the head of the chase in the opener and featured on his own in V5 came into my life shortly after my two German Shepherds and my husband all died within a three week period. I didn't rescue him he rescued me. Alfred (V4) is Ansel's half brother and he came into our lives when I realised that Ansel needed a full time canine companion. The more photo geeky members among you will recognise that they are named after photographers both of whom were famous for their back & white images.
I will always be grateful to Ian O'Reilly of Gazegill Organic Farm for enabling me to have these two bundles of joy in my life and to my friend's daughter Amy who told Ian of my situation. Ian then waived the fee for Ansel and asked only for a contribution to his charity.
The other dogs featured in this set are Ansel & Alfred's buddies, those who we meet during our daily walk around Hirst Woods, along the Leeds Liverpool Canal and the River Aire. As you can see from the images they all get along famously as do all their owners. It is these encounters that have allowed me to maintain my tenuous grasp of sanity!
As ever the exif applies only to the opening shot. Thank you for viewing and I hope that you enjoy st least some of these canine action shots
