A simple yet delicate and effective composition Kath. It tells a story, and makes me want to get out in the garden and do some cultivating! It is still a bit cold to plant out the beans though!

Thanks all for your comments and clicks and a rework of an old image that I found in the archives. The handle has a lovely patina and every time I hold it, it's like holding my Dad's hand again. I suppose part of us always remains that child however old we are.

Take care all.

Lovely, Kath and yes, the small ones always used to be called; a ladies spade.
However, since that statement may now be sexist, you can use a big one. Wink
I keep my two spades behind a large wispy leafed bush, I call them:
Acer spades.

Beautiful Kath on all levels. There is something special about old tools. I have some my grandfather worked with and using them is always special.

Thank you all for such lovely comments and some awards too. I will message you all.

Thanks Kate and John, there is something lovely about using the tools that have been handed down to you. Especially in such a clear it out society. The spade, well it was Dad's and he gave it to me so that is more than a bit special. Like Ivor says, a spade full of memories.

Take care all.

I am a little concerned about what it might have buried last.

This is one of those innocent photos that could grace the cover of a good murder mystery.
