Interesting detail and mono conversion.
The framing lets me wanting to have gone wider at 50mm, to have all the tachymetre figures from 0-120 and all of the Cadillac insignia in the frame, neatly, Should the focus be on the insignia with aperture set at f/9.0 you would have all of the dials in focus as well, Double Whopper.

Blyme, it is in colour, but it looks like mono, the only colour is in the insignia, haha.... Well then a mono conversion would not look out of context.

In court; a man is accused of stealing a lady's purse.
''So, defendant'' says the judge ''why did you take this lady's purse? Does it look anything like your wallet?''
''No your honour'' says the man ''...but the banknotes did''.

Deciding the actual point of focus in an image is often a matter of experimentation coupled with personal preference. I could have reduced the focal length slightly but was conscious that i risked having stuff intrude from through the main windscreen...there was already an A4 piece of paper with details about the car lying on top of the dash which you can make out, but hopefully which doesn't intrude too much...I was more interested in capturing the dated instruments/feel of the dash which looked like something from the Clint Eastwood era.

On this occasion the interior didn't quite match up with what you might have expected from seeing the exterior of the car, condition wise.

David...any resemblance to your image is completely unintentional! The windows on most of the cars on display were wound down as it was a hot day enabling one to peer inside...many owners seemed to encourage photos of the interiors by placing suitable 'props' within to enhance the feel and experience of the occasion. I also took some similar dash shots from a nice Jaguar...i'll post one tomorrow just to add some geographic balance.

Thanks to both of you for taking the time to comment...much appreciated as always. Smile

Kako, I would have expected the windows to be rolled down on a sunny day;
For the A/C to be on you must be running the engine, Smile
Do not hesitate to crop, so shoot wider and crop later, you can take something out if you have it,
but you can't have something in if you don't... ertt... that might not be true anymore,
Yes I am ageing, at my time printers were working people not boxes Smile
