Reverting to Type 1

By woolybill1
A steep cobbled backstreet near Woolybill Towers. Back on home ground Smile

I felt quite overwhelmed at times yesterday by the attention paid to Three-Point Turn; a panoply of UAs culminating in a GEA Smile I tried to send PMs to all my benefactors and thank them again now; forgive me if inadvertance has left you unthanked Blush

I have to say Bill that it's just a load of old cobbles !!
Beautiful picture, wonderful light and great processing.

The long cobbled climb home: great viewpoint and perspective.
All enhanced by the B and W processing which enhances contrast.

A case of 'slippery when wet', and great for small boys on home-made toboggans, especially in winter.

It just needs a shadowy figure walking away up the alley to be pure Bill Brandt.
Without said figure it merely deserves my modest award.

The light reflection off of the cobble stones really enhances the image, Bill.
I like the view point too.

The shadowy figure didn't fancy a walk in the rain that day Wink

Quite a retro look to this one Bill, suits the scene very well.

Love the minimalist, high contrast look, and the apparent discovery of a Saxon shield at the bottom rounds it off.

An uninspiring subject? Definitely not when choosing a low PoV and some severe processing - makes a great mono GrinGrinGrinGrin

I like this. It reminded me of a charcoal I bought at the RA a few years ago by David L.Carpanini. Just b/w, no tones, but very descriptive of a northern town.

You made the most of what you found at this location, Bill, and enhanced greatly with your gritty treatment.

More than a hint of your namesake from the Brandt clan, Bill.

A statement of our times, Bill? The present is clear, the future is still kind of blurry? Even knowing how to get home.
