Revisited

By mattmatic
I decided to revisit one of my old RAW files and use Capture One LE on it Smile
The original is here.

Added a little more "zing" with some curve adjustment layers in PS.

Hope I haven't gone too far with the adjustment! LOL!

Well done Matt. I think the top 75% is fantastic, but the bottom 25% is just a tad dark (but I'm definitely no expert in these matters).

Thank you Cornelia.
David - thanks for your comment. It may depend on your monitor. On a calibrated monitor the bottom is dark, but not excessively so, at least that's my opinion! LOL!

I've received quite a few emails from people lately who complain about their lack of inspiration. They are all digi's, I think it is too 'easy'.
What I mean is with film, each time you push the shutter, 'the till rings', so, before you do that, you stop and think more, look around in your viewer at your comp, to see if all's there you want, nothing there you don't want.
You end up with far fiewer images, but I think a higher success rate.
I speak from a personal pov here, cause when I use the Blad or Mamya, or the technical camera... as the price goes up, the amount of images goes down, hihi.
I think what you are doing now, sticking to one 'discipline' is a very good exercize, something Paul and I regularly put ourselves through. M (*_*)

Thanks Magda - I did use film a lot before. Personally, when I look back I find that my image quality has improved faster than I realise, and that can't be sustained for too long! LOL!
For me, because photography is "just" a hobby, it's hard to maintain the "eye". If I was shooting more regularly, I know that vision would stay longer.
Your input on this site is wonderful, I always appreciate your thoughtful comments Wink
