Still on our 3 Passes tour, we stopped here at Rhonegletscher (Rhone Glacier) on Furkapass. Itís the largest glacier in the Urner Alps, and lies on the south side of the range at the source of the Rhone. As can be seen outside the shop in V3 itís 7,600 feet above sea level, and this was the highest location we visited during the whole weekís holiday. However, unlike at the top of the Rothorn, looking down into Brienz, some 5,500 feet below, here looking down into Gletsch (bottom left in V4), itís only about 1,700 feet below. After leaving here we descended down into Gletsch, continuing up the winding road.
