Riding the curve

By Bigpoolman
Cycling and photography - almost perfect day out. First real attempt at taking pictures at the Velodrome, great fun.

In cropping the image I also rotated it slightly to give me an angle that I couldn't get to. Basic editing in LR and PS.

Comments appreciated as always.

I'd like the space below/in front rather than above/behind.

Maybe a fraction brighter.

Pretty good - I was sizing this up for a UA before I saw it was in the Critique Gallery...

Technically really good. I'd like a wee bit more space - you mention rotating and cropping, could you add the original please?

These Velodromes have to be seen to be believed, they are so steep!

Decent shot. Black nail polish?

Tried a mod, brighter, less of a blue cast, added a bit of space on the right side. Idelly it should be on the left I would imagine.

Thanks for adding the original. I was hoping for a bit more space at the bottom - as it is, I've cropped tighter at the sides, I'm not sure if it works. The Manchester sign is important in photo journalism terms, I like the way it balances the cyclist.

Lightened and warmed very slightly.

Thanks all. I like the brighter, warmer look which I think brings out the wood of the track better. I did darken the area to the right a bit as it was drawing my eye. Agree with you about the Manchester sign, Moira it seemed important to me albeit Im not quite sure why.

Finally, others in the burst did have a bit more space in front but were not quite sharp enough so I was left with this one.

cheers

Tim
