Had a trip over to Crosby yesterday and dragged Mr Murren away from his nice warm fire (not that he needed that much persuading!)
Glad I did, as he showed me where to go (in the nicest way!) as the 'men; have mostly been removed from where we normally go, PLUS the tide was in and hammering against the Sea Wall
By the time I got this shot my right foot was a block of ice as my Wellies (only worn three or four times) were suddenly as waterproof as a sieve!
Loved the way the lights are reflected in the edge of the pool of water, hence the title.
Paul suggested that since I'd opted for this crop, I could put it in the Pano Gallery, even tho' it's from one shot, so if it don't work, blame him
15sec @ f16 ISO100 focal length 17mm Lee.6 ND Soft Grad.
BTW- - this was the last shot I took - - and my fav, I think -- just goes to show
Thanks for looking - - have a gr8 Sunday, think we're having a "Chill Out" day, after a brief visit to B&Q to sort out the welly problem!
BTW - - as MrdeMilo has commented - - this does benefit from viewing LARGE

Splendid looking image and well spotted too.
Dragged away from a warm fire I should be so lucky (another song title for you there) dragged away from the kitchen sink is more like it.
I agree after you showed me the lights in that pool I also think out of mine I like that one I have as being the best but itís your shot and Idea so mine will stay in my private collection lol
Thanks for dragging me out
Beautiful. The crop is very effective, and quite dramatic....hope you got the Wellies sorted out.
Im coming with you next time Fran...... Please....
I really like the colours and the crop, I think it works.
I bought a calendar of these guys and your image is JUST as good.
Lovely blue tones contrasting well with the colours of the lights, lovely placement of the figure within the frame too, and an excellent crop.
Now that really works nice work Paul... I mean Fran.
Thanks Ian, Joline, Lee, Chant and Dave
Anytime, Ian, as long as you reciprocate

See, now you've got me going on letter-box crops. there's no stopping me!!!
What a successful crop and a great idea to post it as a pano ... x
Really? D'ya think so ????????
The Pano works well with this shot (good idea Paul).
Seriously though it really does work. Hope that your feet are dry now.
Great image Fran, the twinkling lights and the dark figure make this a wonderful pano with interest all the way across the image.
All the very best
Thanks Glynn and Dougie
Dry now, Glynn, ta - - B&Q are about to bear the brunt of my Wrath!!
Not that I am grovelling but the pano works really well with this shot and yes large is superb well worth the wet and cold feet for.
This does indeed work very well Fran!
Oh, by the way, I always blame it on the curry
Thanks Les, you can get up off your knees, now!
Is that why you are always out on your own, Paul ???
Great composition, Fran, love your ring of fire ! Great silhouette and format.
Yeah Fran....Very Good
Thanks Derek and Terry
Finally got one...COLD AS ICE.
Gone large...Luminescence !!!
Great wide vista.
Men gone...maybe they shrunk...(the cold)
Love the lights & the reflections
Superb Fran, wonderful silhouette in the ring of reflections and almost walking on water!
LOL Keith, Thanks
Thanks too, Tony and Tim
wow.. lovely colours
Excellent composition and title. Where did the rest of these statues go? At one time I had read that they were going to be traveling to New York. Then I read that they were not coming because they had taken up permanent residence at there present location.
Thanks Bun and Ty
Apparently they are going to be relocated at Crosby but in other places due to the Coastguard station and the wildlife
Great shot Fran - good to see a different take on the 'men'
I do like to do different Jo
Im gutted now i didnt come fran,i didnt get the shots i wanted in town total waste of time lol,
the last shot i got of these, was when ian was in the middle of the mersey...lol and my feet were numb so i know how you felt...but wow it was worth for this fran, this is stunning and so beautifully captured,
hope to catch up with you before we get to scotland lol..
Hope so too Ian - - Thanks
Really like this shot and the crop, I bought Photo monthly yesterday and I see that you are famous, congratulations.
Good one fran. Mind you were lucky that that figure was standing just off centre. The title is very apt to this image and I love that semi circle of reflections.
Great composition & light Fran - I've lost count how many times the last shot of the day has been the best.
Indeed a great capture
Thanks John, Danny, Nick and Peter
They're a real pain to pose, Danny
Fran - this is excellent - I'm curious - did you create the star effects on the lights? Everything is just as it should be - shortlist!
What is it with wellies these days?
Two pairs in the last three months. Might as well have been wearing flip flops. I blame the government!
Oh, nice shot too
No, Mike, really haven't done much to this, other than crop it and tweak the curves a tad
TY for the shortlisting
Thanks too Paul - - gonna get my stroppy head on tomorrow - - too chilled to get cross today!
Nice one,really smashing image.
Love those BLUE tones Fran, are you changing your allegiance lol.
Thanks Alan and Tom
Not a chance, Tom
Cheers Steve! Thanks
A wonderful night shot Fran, lovely lights and reflections.
A Lovely image exposure light tones and composition.
Reminds me of the shot I did at Paddys though the guy in yours needs to put on a few lbs then he'll be a proper bloke.
Why are they removing some of the "men" Fran?
Oh nice exposure too, and crop.
B&Q - Bootmakers to the gentry? Your delicate feet deserve the investment of a good pair of Hunters, Fran!
Nice lonely feeling to this as the light fades. Great.
That'll be 50 then!
Like the crop in this. Nice tone too.
Thanks Pauline, Steve, David and Martyn
Apparently, the birds are being disturbed by people looking at them, Ste
