Ringed Plover (Charadrius hiaticula)

By DerekL
Thank you for the votes/comments on my previous upload of a Willow Warbler, especially for the User Awards from Ron (Maiwand), Ju (JuBarney), Steve (SteveMoulding), Sreco (Natureale), Ewan (WintonPhotography) and Joe (photgraphyjoe), all much appreciated as usual.

Popped out for an hour this morning in the freezing wind (is this summer?) to Chasewater Country Park and was fortunate to see this Ringed Plover, which was feeding around the shoreline with a Little Ringed Plover, a Sanderling and a Dunlin, before they all flew off together.

Two gorgeous captures. If I had to choose between them, I think I would lean towards Version 2 - wonderful details!

Two fine shots of this lovely little wader, I'm pleased to say that the weather has taken a turn for the better after the cold wind and rain of MondaySmile
