RIP Mr Swan

By SUE118
Evening friends. I had some awful news yesterday morning from Ian who is the warden at Southampton Common. Ever since Mr Swan flew back to Ornamental Lake on Chridtmas eve Ian has been checking him every morning and yesterday Ian texted me to say that Mr Swan had died. Thankfully there was no injuries on him and we think he came back home to die. It does happen that Swans die of broken hearts and he lost his first love about 5 years ago and then Missy last year. In a strange way I'm happy that he chose to come back home and he even positioned himself so that Ian would find him. So sad I will never see him again, the walkers and everybody that knew him are devastated as Mr Swan was quite a character.

Sad, but nature has its own ways. I hope that a young male will move into the lake now, take over the vacant territory.
And meanwhile an award for a beautiful image and good memories. I was privileged to meet your swans and experience your rapport with them.
