A macro lens shot of the board game Risk. I'm thinking of doing a series of photos based around board games. I'm thinking of also using monopoly, cluedo, hero quest and atmosphere.

Just a quick point...

You need to apply some sharpening, it looks like nothing in this image is in sharp focus.

I agree with the above but the idea is great!

Thanks for the comments. I'll try sharpening it in PhotoShop as I'm possibly gonna adjust the colours as well too to make them a bit more saturated.

Welcome to ePhotzine Interesting idea.

My suggestions:

* Use a tripod - help with sharpness.
* Adjust lighting, or nove playing pieces in order to minimise distracting highlights.
* Don't over saturate - reds already there.
* Use a wider aperture to throw background more oof.
* for a different look try puting the playing pieces on countries of contrasting colours.

* Most importantly - experiment and HAVE FUN!!

Well, that should keep you busy!!

Thanks for the suggestions Smile. I got some new lighting equipment the other day so I'm gonna try this out with it, which will hopefully prevent the appearance of highlights. I'll try the other things as well and get the results up. Like your idea about colour as well.
