'Riverside Promenade'

B & W image of Pulteney Bridge, Bath, taken from a public riverside path, on the 'upriver' side of the bridge,
Showing the other 'face' of the bridge, compared to its better known 'downriver' face.
This photo was taken during the recent 'Storm Dennis' event, the affect of such on the UK, various parts of.
Visible through the bridges arches is the weir, which in a V shape points up river, breaking the rivers flow.
This weir and an adjacent sluice gate has been in place since 1972, part of a flood prevention scheme.
The riverside 'promenade' is part of a riverside path route through Bath, alongside the River Avon.
From this point one can look down river to the bridge and weir, upriver towards Cleveland Bridge.
This place is rather out of view, in relation to some streets, properties, some undergoing refurbishment..
One can get a good view of the river level at this point, by looking across at the opposite bank.
