It's the River Wear Durham Castle/Cathedral on the sky line.
I can imagine where you were, I don't think I've ever looked along from there. Good view.
A wonderful image of Old Durham Town. The image works so very well in this wonderful monochrome.
You have used the ideal viewpoint for the long view towards the peninsula that really emphasises the massive nature of the Castle / Cathedral complex.
Excellent b&w too.
This is a view that I have not seen before, John: composed as ever with such attention and looking super in this B and W presentation.
Love the reflections of the riverside properties in the still waters above the weir.
Not bad john.

It works really well in b/w.

A very lovely capture and a stunning quality mono conversion too, John
I get the feeling you have done this one before John, from several angles, I liked it then and I like it now! well done! regards Leon.
Wonderful image, great composition and it really works well as a mono
A lovely mono image and well composed John
A nice clean shot - good architectural lines; good tonal values - the reflections in the water are also very good here.
