Robin?

I caught this guy taking a break among the plum blossoms yesterday. between him and what I guess was his mate, I shot almost 150 frames. As I am not familiar with bird photography, I would like to hear thoughts and opinions from those who are. The colours are more saturated in original file.

I used a little bit of flash to put a glint in his eye.

I agree with Ian on the ID. Its a well detailed and exposed image and the catchlight adds value

Its a difficult ID. Looking at my books again I am persuaded it is probably a Redstart (the head is the clincher) but Redstarts shouldn't have the white flash on the wing (that's characteristic of the Whinchat). Maybe its a Redchat? Smile

Thanks for all the comments, and the help with the name. I will probably stick a couple more up which may help with identifying him.
