Like the crop of this a lot K. I do find the eyes a little bit too intense (but that's just personal) - and it may be that's the effect you were after. Still great work.

she does look very intense, but I think its that that makes the image stand out! She looks so grown up!

You're a bit good at this portrait lark aren't you? Wink
19 Jan 2005 1:15AM
Thanks very much everyone, it does look intense but I actually havent done that much to the eyes, in fact its the rest of it I worked on. Her pupils are very large in this which makes them look darker than normal. K.

Morning K, I stared at this for ages, and for me the one thing that stands out is the eyes, they seem very big and have the effect of making her look younger in this than your other shots, love the comp, looking at her expression I am wary to say anything, as I was sooo wrong yesterday, Good work KSmile
19 Jan 2005 1:25AM
Tony you have to say what you think, you know I appreciate honest critique and need all the help I can get I've still got so much to learn and the only way to do that is if people provide it, your assistance has been invaluable so dont stop now, tell it like it is. K.

What big eyes you have! or so most others think like me. Lovely crop K and like this more intimate shot than yesterdays. This would make a fine CD cover and would beat the competetion and the moment hands down where so many portraits are such poor quality. As you may have guessed love music and pay a lot of attention to cover art and photography.

Look after yourself.

there may be room for improvement as you say, but i don't see it, i like the picture very much the way it is, beautiful big eyes and great contrast.

It could be a taste of things to come K?

You are really progressing well in your portraiture.

K, 'tis another fine shot, but for me doesn't have the same impact, or WOW factor of yesterdays shot.

19 Jan 2005 4:47AM
Thanks all for your comments and the modifications. Paul any help I can offer I will, just drop me a line (I am still very much a learner though).
Alex likes this (she has to approve them or they dont go up Wink but she prefers yesterdays too). My ex's girlfriend cut 8 inches off her hair a couple of weeks ago, made a right hash of it so she will be pleased with these comments. Thanks again. K.

she's got such a great face! how can i not love this. the crop is nice, i find the arm being so close to her face a little awkward, only because it took me a minute to work out the position. the usual quality, of course.

Gorgeous shot K, one for the wall. The intense expression against the general softness makes this for me, helped by the contrast between high key and dark hair/eyes.

I get the feeling you've not fixed your background yet with all these tight crops :o)
Still it's a good shot, I would've preferred to see more definition on the nose but that's a small niggle.
Prefer yesterday's - especially the modifications ;o)

A neat composition. I do find large white areas dificult to what can I say ..... accept,. Not sure how to put it K. Put it this way we would have to be made out of marble for this reflection. Its funny but its just the thing we try to avoid when using flash. I hope I have made sense. However it has real bite, gripping. John

Wow K, what a stunner! You walls must be convered at home!! Not sure about the border though, the shot's so good it doesn't need it.

Didn't see yesterday's so off to look!

19 Jan 2005 7:48AM
Thanks everyone, John I prefer to refer to it as porcelain Wink. Hi key is not to everyone's taste, Alex is naturally pale anyway so this just adds to the effect. Her brother is a different skin tone altogether and the same amount of curves applied to both have a completely different effect. Many thanks again. K.

Just looked at your portfolia for the first time. All i can say is that your portraits are truely amazing. I love the texture and the way her eyes make her look older.

I wish i had the same effect on my portraits, but then i am still learning.
