Rogue Minogue 3

By franfoto
This is my last upload in the Rogue Minogue series and is one of the photographs picked out by the Artiste. The details are the same...

"Live performance session" of a young lady doing a tribute to Kylie Minogue at a holiday camp here in the South West. The stage lighting was extremely difficult to work with as it was constantly changing. I used an external flash unit and my access to the area was restricted due to not wanting to get in the way of the audience's view of the show. Most of the shots were a bit on the under exposed side and I didn't have the time to keep reviewing but I managed to rescue some of them in Photoshop CS. This is my first attempt at stage photography and given the opportunity again I think I would do things differently.
Any advice?

Thanks for all your comments and advice on these stage shots, an area totally out of my comfort zone. I might try it again in the future.

Regards
Fran

for a first try you should be very pleased!! the pose and expression is perfect i would try in future to avoid flash and use the stage lights thats the tricky bit but you get much more energy in photos that do! might beworth looking at it in black and white too! keep at it its a great area to shoot in keeps you on your toes lol

Many thanks for this infomation, I wouldn't have thought to do it without flash so this will be a good tip to try next time, I can see from your PF that you've done a bit.
Cheers

Excellent work, I once did a gig without flash just ask the lighting engineer to switch on the lighting to be used and take a reading in advance then you are covered for the whole gig, believe me it works..

Nice capture Frasn,so difficult to catch when the lights change constantly,I used to be in a band,we travelled all over the country and abroad,I should have taken my camera more often,I had the opportunity to photograph many famous stars but I let it slip by...anyway you captured this one really well, good job
