...pebbles on a beach beside the storm defences at Staoinebrig on South Uist.

I was consulting the map, when captioning this and discovered I was on a beach marked dangerous, lived to tell the tale.

Beautifully composed and captured Dougie. Do hope that ominous looking cloud did not roll your way too. Moira

Cosmic perspective aplenty, Dougie. Danger presumably of the storm breaking over your head. Wonderful viewpoint gives f/g textures and detail in abundance.

Three layers of rock: the beach, the wall and the hills behind, all topped off by that fabulous cloud! Another stunner from the western isles Dougie. You're inspiring me for my visit to the Hebrides! Smile

You'll love the islands Ann, wonderful places full of character and characters.

Quite different to the silvery sands of previous images, Dougie: love that huge cloud cap sitting over the distant peaks.

Awwwww, pebbles! Love then and can't get away not getting a few in my pockets. A lovely beach, under a dangerous looking sky - the hills turn into volcanos ready to errupt.

Great sky and you held the sun back very well. The pebbles are a lovely FG interest point. I think the only compromise in the image would be filter placement to block the sun means the wall is a tad underexposed. It's certainly a very original image and very effective!

A 50/50 split between the textures of heaven and earth.

Like the foreground and that's another fine cloudscape Dougie.

Glad you made it back safely. You obviously missed the hazard tape and the mine field signs Grin
