Romanesque

A romanesque. Ever seen one before? I hadn't until recently.

We were on Lindisfarne (see previous picture!) and there was a guy selling fruit and veg from his driveway. This fractal-like object caught my eye and we had to enquire as to what it was!

It's either part of the cauliflower or broccoli family of vegetables. Eventually we cooked it, much in the same way as a cauliflower, and it tasted pretty much like, well, a cauliflower! But looks far more interesting. The repetitive patterns within its surface have to be seen to be believed!

After never seeing these before, we saw some more on a market stall in Penrith town centre a few weeks later!
