ROSIE

By chrisevans
After I had completed the more themed concept shot of colleague Rosie I did this super simple and more traditional maternity shot. I dropped the light source almost horizontal to Rosie's head and pushed it in as close as possible to her. Ultra edged lighting is very dramatic which I love but it's not always the most flattering so having the light as close as the crop would allow gives this super soft effect. I have the good fortune of working every day with Rosie so to give her some shots of this life changing and life creating stage of her life was a real pleasure for me. The offset composition was a little bit editorial but the alternative square and portrait options that I also have are a little predictable for me. Good luck Rosie and your gorgeous boy who I've just met in person.

Beautiful image. The lighting is lovely & has really emphasized her baby bump. You've even managed to get a catch light in her eye on the unlit side. Beautifully done!

Good compositional choice, I'd say. Love the lighting!
