Ruffled Feathers

By susanbarton
Whilst walking in the park with my grandchildren I spotted this beautiful swan, he was very keen to keep us away, which I thought made for an interesting picture, help required about the colour it was a sunny day which isn't reflected in the result!

It's underexposed - the bright water has fooled your camera meter. I've uploaded a mod which lightens things up a bit.

Agree with CB in that the camera has exposed the scene poorly. With bright scenes like this or where there is snow (has a similar effect) you should add +1 stop exposure compensation.

It is also difficult when shooting scenes with just water as a background to make them look level. You may well have had the camera level, but it looks wrong in the image. I haven't rotated the mod like CB, as you can see from his the effect.

Really like the composition and the capture is lovely. I agree with Caraboose and his modification has livened up the image Well done
