Rustic landscape

By KingArthur
Some two weeks ago I had the "privelege" of accompanying my younger brother Herbert (known as Herbert Catania on EPZ) on a delightful shoot around quite a few interesting spots. On the day I gave Herbert, being a born landscape photographer, the benefit of choosing his preferred locations to bag some worthwhile landscape shots. Quite a change for me to my usual birding photography!

While on the road to Gnejna Bay we made a quick stopover to scout this rustic valley and managed to put in a couple of decent shots too.

On the day I was also eager to try out my new Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 lens which I had not yet used after over a year lying dormant in my cupboard. Coupled with the Nikon D7500, I spotted these weathered pellets lying in the field and thought I could come up with an interesting composition utilising the lens's super wide angle of view ..... believe me, at 11mm the Tokina does let in quite a lot from a very close viewpoint!

Quite honestly I was rather impressed with the lens resolution on seeing the results ..... pretty sharp with nice colour rendition overall. The larger version tends to confirm this.

Stay all safe,
Joe Smile

That image is a good advert for the lens, so much for label snobbery.
Some of the more serious pixel peepers will probably find fault, but as a layman, that's a fine image.
