Rusty Bollard

By TrevBatWCC
This is especially for Mick, who commented on the rusty bollards on Whitby's West Pier in my previous upload, and was taken later in the week on another stroll down the pier. On this occasion, there was a chap re-painting the white railings which run down both sides of the pier. I do hope he didn't continue after I'd left and paint these delightfully rusted bollards! Wink Used a wide aperture to help throw out of focus the old stone lighthouse on the East Pier in the background.

Single Raw image processed in Adobe Camera Raw 7, tweaked in Photomatix Pro 4 and Photoshop Elements 11.

Thanks again to everyone for your votes & comments on my previous uploads, it really is appreciated and encouraging.

I am rather fond of Whitby's rusty wood Smile
I expect Health and Safety were responsible for removing the Dalek's antenna and ray gun Blush

Hope Mick enjoys his Dr.Who moment Trev.
Peter.
Whitby pier is such a great place to get those lovely rusty shots, the sea obviously gives it a good battering during the winter. Great shot.

It was this bollard that particularly caught my attention in your previous image. So good to see it close up.

I see a dalek too Trev.
And if I saw a painter painting over rust at a pier
I would toss him over the edge and into the water !!

The wide aperture works well but the OOF lighthouse echoes the shape of the bollard, albeit in somewhat slimmer contours.
Nicely conceived and executed, Trev.
Mick will be so appreciative of this positing, i am sure.
